A lot of parents are sending their kids back to school, and some are sending their kids off to school for the very first time. Justin Moore remembers what a wreck he was when his oldest daughter, Ella, started kindergarten. Justin had a show the night before, and he recalls, “JR, one of my tour managers, was with me that evening, and we flew back from a show. I don’t remember where we were on a Sunday evening, and she was starting on Monday, and I boo-hooed all the way home on the plane, and then I got home and my wife was asleep. We got home at like midnight and I said, ‘How could you sleep at a time like this?! What is wrong with you?!’
She goes, ‘What?!’ She goes, ‘She’s gonna be fine.’
I said, ‘I’m not gonna be fine!’”
Fortunately, Justin, who is on the verge of celebrating another #1 hit with his song “Somebody Else Will,” lived through the trauma of sending his little girl off to school for the first time, but he still has three more kids to live through that experience with, but hopefully it’ll get a little easier with a few less tears on his part.
