  • Taylor Swift has joined a new campaign launched by PBS called Learn the Address, to encourage people to learn the Gettysburg Address, in honor of its 150th anniversary, and Taylor is in good company.  Other famous faces and dignitaries who are participating in the campaign, which encourages people to video themselves reciting the Gettysburg Address and then upload it to the campaign’s web site include Presidents Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama, plus Martha Stewart, Bill Gates, Robin Roberts, Jerry Seinfeld, Conan O’Brien, Alyssa Milano, Jimmy Kimmel and more. See the video here.   • Taylor Swift has been named among the highest paid musicians of 2013 according to the new list published by Forbes. Taylor Swift came in 7th with $55 million in earnings.  Other Country artists on the list include Toby Keith ranking fourth, Kenny Chesney tying with Beyoncé ranking ninth, and Tim McGraw tying with Pink and Tiësto at No. 25 with $32 million. Forbes compiles the annual list using money earned through ticket sales, merchandising, publishing royalties, endorsements and personal business ventures.  You can view the entire list here.

 

  • Tim McGraw will join Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Hunter Hayes, and Republic Nashville’s Florida Georgia Line as honorees for CMT’s Artists of the Year. The night will be full of presentations and performances by Republic Nashville’s Cassadee Pope, as well as Alabama, Dierks Bentley, Lady Antebellum, Train’s Pat Monahan, Lionel Richie, Travis and Dwight Yoakam. Comedian Ron White will host the 90-minute special, which will air live from Nashville on December 3rd at 8pm ET/7pm CT.

 

  • Danielle Bradbery, who released her debut self-titled album this week, made an appearance on CW’s series Hart of Dixie. In the episode, she portrayed herself and sang her aptly-titled single “The Heart of Dixie” in the fictional town of Bluebell. Laura Bell Bundy, who portrays Shelby on the drama, was also in the same scene. See a behind-the-scenes video from the set here.

  • Florida Georgia Line will be setting sail next year on the first ever “This Is How We Cruise” aboard the Norwegian Pearl, November 8 – 12, 2014.  The four day cruise will set sail from Miami and visit Great Stirrup Cay, Norwegian’s Private Island in the Bahamas.  The cruise will include two live performances by Florida Georgia Line, a photo op for every cabin with the guys and a private Q & A session on the last day of the cruise, plus they’re planning to bring along some special surprise guests to help add even more on-board entertainment.  Additional artists to be announced at a later date will perform on multiple stages throughout the ship as well as host activities, intimate fan experiences and live on-stage collaborations.
