NASHVILLE, TN (September 12, 2025) – The Jack Wharff Band continue to be a torchbearer for their beloved home state with their new track “Ole Virginia,” out today via Big Machine Records. An ode to the local legends and small-town drama left behind in pursuit of a neon-tinted dream, the song gives listeners a peek behind the curtain at the places and people who have made the talented four-piece into the men they are today. Written by bandmembers Jack Wharff, Ryan Atchison, Garrett Howell and Evan Novoa, plus Aidan Canfield & Luke Wharff, “Ole Virginia” is a nostalgia-laced track that underscores the magnetic pull we feel to the land that raised us. A celebration of the different paths taken by those who call the same town home – whether they choose to stay in the place they were born or decide to pack up and leave it all behind in a search for something different – the slice-of-life centric tune pulses with home state pride and further solidifies Virginia as the true beating heart behind the genre-defying, hope-inducing music that The Jack Wharff Band creates.

“‘Ole Virginia’ is a snapshot of stories about our friends and family back in Virginia,” shares Jack Wharff. “The song pays homage to the people and the experiences that shaped us, and it gives listeners a taste of what life was like for us there.”
“Ole Virginia” is one of two new songs released by The Jack Wharff Band since their debut EP Richmond’s Most Wanted dropped in June – the first being the bluegrass-soaked barnburner “Moonshine Man.” Garnering more than 18M streams to date, the project includes the “intoxicating barroom romance” (Country Central) title track “Richmond’s Most Wanted,” “breakneck bluegrass spiritual” (Holler) “Washed,” the “ballad that feels as intimate as a handwritten letter” (All Country News) “Picture Perfect” and the band’s beloved debut track “Burnin’ It Down” in addition to new songs “Otherwise” and “Don’t Hold Your Breath.” The EP, comprised of six tracks each co-penned by various members of the band, is a dynamic, well-rounded project that encapsulates what The Jack Wharff Band does best: creating songs that guarantee exceptional instrumentation, a sound that tests the limits of genre, and lyrics that encourage and inspire.
Earlier this week (9/9), The Jack Wharff Band made their AMERICANAFEST debut, playing at the legendary Nashville venue Exit/In. They will continue playing shows across the U.S. and Canada before opening on select dates of Ole 60’s U.S. Tour 2025 and Max McNown’s Forever Ain’t Long Enough Tour this fall. Early next year, the band will hit the road once again, opening on select dates of 49 Winchester’s 2026 Spring Tour. For more information and tour dates, please visit thejackwharffband.com.
