(AUDIO) Waterloo Revival Remembers The Calls That Changed Their Lives

Waterloo Revival has their second single on the radio with “Bad for You,” but they still remember the day they got the call that changed their lives. According to George Birge, “We were playing in Austin, workin’ desk jobs and we got a call from Toby Keith’s manager and he said, ‘I’m flying into Austin to see you guys play,’ which was the coolest thing in the world. Well, he flew into Austin to see us play and he ended up signing us on the spot. He was like, ‘Those desk jobs you guys have, that’s over. You’re moving to Nashville and you’re gonna come try to make it.’”

Two weeks after they got to Nashville, they got the second call that changed their lives from Scott Borchetta. George says, “(He) is the president of Big Machine Records and has worked with some artists that we grew up listening to – Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts – stuff like that. So it took us about 30 seconds to agree to that and our lives haven’t been the same yet.”

Waterloo Revival is working on their debut album, which will feature their latest single, “Bad for You.”
