(AUDIO) Waterloo Revival Have Been Writing Songs Together Since Middle School

George Birge and Cody Cooper, better known as Waterloo Revival, have been friends since sixth grade, which is when they also started writing songs together. George recalls, “I convinced Cody to teach me how to start playing guitar and by eighth grade, it took me about two years, but I finally learned about six chords on the guitar.”

George convinced his parents to buy him his first guitar and then he says, “Cody had this eight track recorder that he kept in his room and we’d record demos on almost every Friday and Saturday night of these songs that we thought were amazing, but that were actually probably total garbage.”

Fortunately their songwriting has gotten exponentially better since they were kids. Waterloo Revival just released their debut single, “Hit the Road,” which is available to download now here.
