Thomas Rhett –  hits, meat & live songs :32

“When we sit down to write records, we’re obviously writing the meat of the record. We’re also trying to write hits, but we’re also trying to write meat, hits that also translate in the live show. And it’s like, I would say one of every 50 songs meets all that criteria. But then there’s other songs that are just like, you know what, I think people would dance to this. And that may be the only reason you ever write it. Not for any radio play, not because it’s a big streamer, not because someone wants to watch the music video, but because they might feel something fun when they hear that song, and then you get to back it up with a hit that they know. That’s kind of my process with it at least.”
