(AUDIO) Thomas Rhett Was Born To Be On Stage Playing and Singing

When Thomas Rhett steps on stage, he goes from being a pretty laid back guy to a guy who completely owns the stage and puts on an incredibly entertaining show.  You would think growing up with a father who was a performer might have rubbed off on him, which it did to an extent, but Thomas admits, “From the time I was five years old, when dad first bought our first video camera, I was always behind the camera.  I loved being in the spotlight.  I loved being that kid who was the annoyingly annoying center of attention kid.  I wish I could say that that’s changed, but you know I get out on stage every night and I soak it up.  I love every single second of being on stage in front of people.”  He loves sharing his music, like his top five hit, “It Goes Like This,” with his fans, and he does admit to getting very nervous before he goes on stage, but he says, “It’s more of just a ‘I’m too excited and I can’t contain it’ kind of nervousness… I think I was just kind of born to be on stage playing and singing.”

Thomas Rhett – where does stage presence come from  :44
“Man I was always—I mean, obviously dad taught me a ton.  Watching a guy entertain for a living I think you naturally will get a little bit of entertainment skill.  From the time I was five years old, when dad first bought our first video camera, I was always behind the camera.  I loved being in the spotlight.  I loved being that kid who was the annoyingly annoying center of attention kid.  I wish I could say that that’s changed, but you know I get out on stage every night and I soak it up.  I love every single second of being on stage in front of people. I get very nervous before every show but it’s more of just a “I’m too excited and I can’t contain it” kind of nervousness.  I don’t know.  I think I was just kind of born to be on stage, playing and singing.”
