(AUDIO) Thomas Rhett Reads Fans Lips To Choose New Single

Thomas Rhett says he chose to release his new single, “Make Me Wanna,” as the last single off his debut album because of the reaction it was getting whenever he would play the song live. “From the first time we played it out live I noticed people just kinda movin’. And for a song that nobody knows, for them to move and kinda like pretend like they know the words is a good sign. You see those people in the front row, whatever they’re mouthing and it’s not even the words, but at least they’re tryin’.”

Thomas says after about a year of watching fans try to sing along before they really even knew the song, that’s what convinced him to release the song. He says, “There was a lotta songs off the record we probably could’ve went with but there was somethin’ special about this one for me that I just, it’s always been one of my favorites and to actually get to put it out as the last song off my first record is a pretty cool thing.”
Thomas will join Justin Moore as the opener for the second leg of his Off the Beaten Path Tour, which will kick off October 23rd in Missouri.

“It was just one of those songs that I’ve always liked. Since the beginning there’s always been somethin’ special about that song for me. From the first time we played it out live I noticed people just kinda movin’. And for a song that nobody knows, for them to move and kinda like pretend like they know the words is a good sign. You see those people in the front row, whatever they’re mouthing and it’s not even the words, but at least they’re tryin’. And so that’s been goin’ on for about a year now and so when we decided what we’d put out next, there was a lotta songs off the record we probably could’ve went with but there was somethin’ special about this one for me that I just, it’s always been one of my favorites and to actually get to put it out as the last song off my first record is a pretty cool thing.”
