Thomas Rhett can totally relate to his latest single, “Crash and Burn,” because he’s done that a lot in his own life. Funny enough, he says he crashed and burned many, many times with Lauren, who is now his wife.
“We dated in high school a little bit,” explains Thomas. “When we dated in high school it was so ridiculous. I think she broke up with me like maybe seven times over the course of a year. We were like freshmen in high school and I was just one of the those guys that kept goin’ back, and just kept goin’ back, and really just wanted to date her and me not getting the hint. So, I definitely crashed and burned with my wife and now we are alive and well, which is good.”
Thomas and Lauren will celebrate their third wedding anniversary this October. “Crash and Burn” is the first single off of Thomas’ new album, Tangled Up, which will be released on September 25th.
