Thomas Rhett is a great songwriter, but at one point he was writing a lot of partying, good time songs, and his wife Lauren suggested he write more sweet songs. Thomas says looking at some of the things he’s written for his sophomore album, he has definitely taken her advice. “There’s definitely songs that are gonna be on the second record that are sweeter, if you will,” he says. “I guess that’s just me kinda growin’ as an artist, just growin’ as a person, I guess.”

He’ll still have plenty of feel good songs on his albums, but Thomas says, “This next record is gonna have a little bit more depth to it than the first one did, and I’m just lookin’ forward to it. Hopefully Lauren approves.”

For now, Thomas is enjoying his second #1 single, “Get Me Some of That,” off of his debut album.
