Thomas Rhett will be in Arlington, Texas for the 50th ACM Awards as a nominee in the New Artist of the Year category, and he is especially proud to be nominated this year. “It’s my first nomination for an ACM, and this year is special ‘cause it’ll be the first time it’s not in Vegas in a long time,” says Thomas. “And it’s the 50-year anniversary, so just really proud to be a part of this particular ACM. To be nominated for the ‘New Artist’ category and with my buddy Sam (Hunt) and Cole (Swindell), it’s just a really fun category and the fact that it’s partially fan-voted makes it even cooler.”
Since the award is partially fan-voted Thomas has been having fun interacting with his fans on social media and encouraging them to vote every day and he says, “It really shows you a lot of where your core fan-base is.”
Thomas will release his brand new single, “Crash and Burn,” this Tuesday, and then he will be in Arlington, Texas at the 50th ACM Awards, which will be broadcast live from AT&T Stadium on April 19th on CBS.
