Thomas Rhett has had a busy 2013, and 2014 is shaping up to be just as hectic. He and his wife Lauren have an end-of-the-year vacation planned as a reward to themselves for getting through the year. Originally they were planning to spend 10 – 12 days touring Europe in places like London and Ireland, but then they both realized they hate the cold weather and they’re prone to get sick, so they’ve opted for a beach getaway in the Caribbean instead. Thomas’ latest single, “Get Me Some of That,” is starting its ascent up the charts and he says, “I usually try to take a week off every quarter of the year. I feel like if I don’t get at least five days at home where I don’t have anything to do I kinda start going crazy.”
He’s learned with his schedule, that his vacations have to be planned out well in advance. “I never was used to that. I was used to kinda just going on the weekends and takin’ a week off in the summer, but you can’t really do that in this kinda work.” But Thomas says he already has his 2014 summer getaway planned. “I think like my grandparents are rentin’ out a house in Myrtle Beach next year during the summer, and I’m takin’ a week during the summer to go down there with my family.” It’ll have to be a week when he’s not out on tour, because he already has a lot of his touring plans lined up in 2014.
