(AUDIO) Thomas Rhett Can Feel The Momentum Shifting In His Career

Thomas Rhett says he can definitely feel the momentum shifting in his career since having a three week #1 song with “It Goes Like This,” and now his latest single, “Get Me Some of That” climbing up the charts.  “We were on the ‘Night Train’ tour with Jason Aldean, it started in February and we’d go out there some nights and it would be 80% full and we’d go out the next night and it’d be 50% full when I walked on stage,” says Thomas.  “And that was when ‘It Goes Like This’ had just first come out. And I noticed that as the song was climbing the chart, it would get in the top 20, then it’d get in the top 10 and you could tell that more and more people were showing up.”  Now Thomas says the coolest thing is that not only are the crowds getting bigger, but they know more of his music when he performs.  “You know you get up there and you’re singin’ songs that people shouldn’t know and they know ‘em. And now that the record’s out, obviously, but before the record came out people were comin’ and requesting songs I didn’t even know the words to that I had written two years ago. And I’m like, ‘how do you know these songs’, and they’re like, ‘YouTube man’. And now that the record’s come out and we get out there and we play all twelve songs, plus some, and people are singing every word to every song. So, I’ve definitely seen a number one does wonders for an artist’s career.”  Thomas will have a chance to grow his fan base even more when he hits the road with Brantley Gilbert later this month on his Let It Ride Tour.

Thomas Rhett – feel momentum of career  :52

And that was when ‘It Goes Like This’ had just first come out. And I noticed that as the song was climbing the chart, it would get in the top 20, then it’d get in the top 10 and you could tell that more and more people were showing up. And now that the song’s gone number one and we got a new one out there, you know you get up there and you’re singin’ songs that people shouldn’t know and they know ‘em.
