Thomas Rhett will embark on his first headlining tour this Thursday when he kicks off the Taste of Country Christmas Tour in Abilene, Texas. Normally his shows are pretty loose and he lets the crowd and the feel of the night dictate his set list but he says for this new tour, “We really wanna learn how to put on a structured show and make every part of it as entertaining as possible.” He’s also looking forward to seeing how far he’s come since he played many of the same places on the Taste of Country Tour as an opening act. “We’re playing all the same spots that I’ve played as an acoustic opener with no single, no record deal, no nothing and playing before Brantley and so it’ll be cool to see the transition and hopefully we’ll try to watch some videos of me doing that and compare it to the videos of us doing it, as a headliner. We hope to sell all those shows out and make them a really good experience for everybody.” Thomas’ label mates, The Cadillac three, will join him on select dates of the tour. You can get a complete list of his tour dates on ThomasRhett.com.

Thomas Rhett – headlining TOC xmas tour :48
“You know, a lot of the time we go play club shows with a very loose set list mentality, that’s just me. It’s really hard for me to stick to a set list because the crowd is not gonna be the same every night. They might be really rowdy and then they might just kinda die. If you lose them during a slow song and then all of a sudden the next four songs in your set list are slow, you might need to make some changes. But we really—this Fall for the headlining tour, we really wanna learn how to put on a structured show and make every part of it as entertaining as possible. And it’s gonna bring back memories too ‘cause we’re playing all the same spots that I’ve played as an acoustic opener with no single, no record deal, no nothing and playing before Brantley and so it’ll be cool to see the transition and hopefully we’ll try to watch some videos of me doing that and compare it to the videos of us doing it, as a headliner. We hope to sell all those shows out and make them a really good experience for everybody.”
