Tara Thompson’s debut single, “Someone to Take Your Place,” is about a woman who plans to find a new man to get over her old man, instead of wallowing in self-pity. Tara says, “I like the fact that it’s not this negative song about a breakup. It’s just like, hey, we’re broke up. Fine, I’m just gonna find someone to take your place. So, there’s lots of real life in this song. I have lots of ex-boyfriends I can dedicate this one to.”
While Tara likes the message of the song, in reality, even though she’s single, she’s not really looking for someone to take her ex’s place. She says, “I’m actually kinda enjoying being single.”
