Some songwriters will tell you they are more of a melody person, while others tend to be better at coming up with lyrics, but Steven Tyler is a little bit of both. He explains, “I would say I’m a melody man, but I’m also a lyric man because I’ve written all the lyrics for all the Aerosmith songs through the years. So, it’s fun for me to either start a story or finish a story.”
Steven co-wrote his latest single, “Red, White and You,” with Nathan Barlow, Levi Hummon and Jon Vella, although we’re not sure which part of the song – lyrics or melody … or both – were his contribution.

Steven Tyler – melody man :18
“I would say I’m a melody man, but I’m also a lyric man because I’ve written all the lyrics for all the Aerosmith songs through the years. So, it’s fun for me to either start a story or finish a story. But, it’s like saying boxer or briefs, or commando. I prefer mando.”
