Steven Tyler has been spending a lot of time in Nashville writing new songs for his first country album, which he’ll release later this year. He reveals, “I have rented a house for four months and I’ve written with some of the greatest songwriters down there, not to write a Country record, but to see what I could come up with.”
Steven didn’t want to box himself into just writing songs that he thinks will fit on a country record because he says when you just allow yourself to be creative, “You never know. Writing songs isn’t easy. You’re pullin’ melodies out of thin air and you’re singin’ ‘em between the notes, but there’s a lot of great guys down there. The Barlows and Hilary Lindsey, Lindsey Lee, Jaren Johnson and Chris Destefano.”
Although he didn’t write his new single, “Red White and You,” we’ll certainly get to hear some of the songs he has written with some of Nashville’s best writers, on his forthcoming debut album on Dot Records.
