The season 14 winner of American Idol was just crowned, and whether it’s the winner or any of the other contestants on the show who hope to parlay their time on the show into a successful career, mentor Scott Borchetta says it’s entirely up to the individual to live up to their potential after the show is over. He says, “I can’t do that for you, American Idol can’t do that for you. So, you’ve made it this far, what are you going to do with it?”
Scott believes the opportunity and the resources American Idol offers to its contestants is really extraordinary, but at the end of the day, it’s up to the contestants to put in the work and take advantage of everything the show has provided for them. He says, “It’s really up to you. This is not here just for you to come to Disneyland and ride all the rides, it’s here to educate you and give you everything that we can, to have a successful recording career.”
FOX has announced that American Idol will return for one final season, Season 15, before the show comes to an end for good.
