Big Machine Label Group President and CEO, Scott Borchetta, is sitting in the mentor’s chair this season on American Idol, and he says the new format of the show, airing just once a week creates even more of an urgency for fans who want to support their favorite contestants. “You can just feel the nerves. If you look at the way that the show is set up this year there’s no second nights, there’s no results show, every minute counts. You gotta watch, you gotta vote in real time and make sure that your favorite gets through,” says Scott. “It is fly or die on American Idol this year.”
