(AUDIO) Scott Borchetta Says American Idol Is The Beginning Of An Opportunity For The Winner

The new American Idol will be crowned this Wednesday, and once the confetti drops and the stage lights are dimmed, this year’s mentor, BMLG’s Scott Borchetta says that’s when the real work begins. “A lot more hard work because there’s nothing about this that is easy and there are no shortcuts,” he cautions.

Some people might think winning American Idol is an instant ticket to stardom and a successful career, but Scott says, “American Idol does not anoint you a career, it anoints you an opportunity. So, it’s really up to them to seize the opportunity and it’s really up to us to continue to make sure that we do our job at the highest level.”

The season finale of American Idol airs this Wednesday, May 13th at 8/7c on FOX. Also, be sure to catch the Tuesday, May 12th episode at 9/8c where the top 3 will be narrowed down to the top 2!
