Riley Green’s latest single is his duet with Ella Langley, “Don’t Mind If I Do.” Of course, he’s a fan of the song, which he co-wrote, but Riley says one of the things he really likes about the song is how Ella’s participation evolved and expanded beyond what he originally planned.

“I think a lot about the song is cool to me. I like how it feels like an older country song. It’s got that traditional feel to it, but I’ve never heard a duet where the female just sang the last chorus and it was from her perspective. It kinda made me think of ‘Picture.’ (the Kid Rock/Sheryl Crow song). Something about it did, because they’re going through the same thing, you know, and her saying, ‘I don’t mind if you do’ at the end. And originally, she just sang the last chorus and then I went back and got her to kinda slowly come into the song with harmonies because I just liked introducing her kind of slowly into the song like that.”
