With three members in Rascal Flatts, it seems inevitable that they might have disagreements over songs from time to time, and they have, but they’ve always found a way to work it out.

Jay DeMarcus – “Not as often as you would think, but there are moments we have big debates about songs.”

Gary LeVox – “Some songs hit each of us differently (yeah!) and we’re passionate about it.”

Jay – “That’s what I was gettin’ ready to say. Music is so subjective that we’re all gonna, every once in a while, like something that the other two guys don’t like or vice versa. Mostly it’s me (laugh).”

Joe Don Rooney – “We like you. What are you talkin’ about? We like you a lot. No, but it’s funny. We’ve had songs where we’re like, ‘God, I love that song.’ And we take it in the studio and it just does not work out. It doesn’t feel right goin’ down or whatever. But there’s also songs like, ‘Yeah, we’ll take a chance on that.’ And it turns out to be amazing.”
