Preston Cooper has only lived in Nashville for a couple of years, and when he decided to make the move, he had a good, steady job at the post office, and he was the first in his family to have a dream so much bigger and riskier than the life he was living in Ohio. But surprinsgly, his family was very encouraging of his choice.

“When I told people I was gonna move to Nashville, they were surprised, but they were fully supportive of it. My family was, for sure. But I definitely did have a good job at the post office. But it was good for them, I think, even, ’cause it brought my family together, I think, a little bit, just kinda supporting me to go. ‘Cause nobody’s ever done that in my family, has ever really ventured out, took a risk like that, I guess.”
