debut single: “WEAK”

Preston Cooper was fairly new to songwriting when he moved to Nashville a few years ago, so it’s kind of crazy that the very first song he wrote when he got to town was his debut single, “Weak.”

“I wrote a little bit before I met the Warren Brothers. But I remember the first song I wrote when I came to Nashville was ‘Weak,’ and it was super special because I kinda came up with the idea before I even knew them, like a year before I even met them. And I always wanted to do something with it, but I finally met somebody that was like, they could maybe turn it into something. So, I just kinda played ‘em the idea and then they started just going off on this whole blues trail, and that’s kinda how that song happened.”
