(AUDIO) PRESTON COOPER GOT A SONG AND SOME GREAT ADVICE FROM VINCE GILL

debut single: “WEAK

Preston Cooper was fortunate that before he moved to Nashville he met hit songwriters, The Warren Brothers (“Highway Don’t Care,” “Lights Come On,” “Red Solo Cup,” “Felt Good on My Lips”). Through their connections and their support, Preston was able to meet a lot of great songwriters and influential people in the music business. One pinch me moment Preston got to experience last year when he moved to Nashville was writing with Vince Gill, who not only wrote a song with Preston, but he gave him some great advice.

Preston Cooper – writing with Vince Gill :27

“Yeah, writing with Vince gill, you know, pullin’ up to his house and he comes out, and he’s like, ‘Are you Preston?’ ‘Yes I am.’ And inviting me in, such a nice guy. Very nice.  And I just kinda let him take the lead on the writing process because it’s just so cool watching him do his thing and put his guitar playing and voice on a song. And he just told me, ‘If you’re gonna do it, just have fun doing it. Always have fun doing what you’re doing.’ And that’s something I’m definitely gonna remember from that, for sure.”
