From the moment Mackenzie Carpenter decided she wanted to pursue a career in country music, she had a built-in fan club and support system with her parents. The only caveat they had was that she had to finish getting her degree at Belmont University, where she was studying Music Business, but otherwise, they were all in and totally excited about her decision.

“My parents are definitely my biggest supporters. They always have been. My dad literally announced me signing my record deal on the audio recorder of a Southwest flight. And he was so excited about it. Before I signed anything or had any team, my dad was coming to Nashville, like almost once a week to help me get a team around me and figure out what I wanted to do. So, they just continue to go above and beyond. I truly would not be where I am today without my parents, without the support that they’ve given me all the way. I don’t even think I would have the confidence to be trying to do this without them.”
