Mackenzie Carpenter says music has always been a part of her life and her family as far back as she can remember, and even earlier than that.

“It’s kinda hard to talk about young McKenzie without talking about music at all because it’s pretty standard, typical story. I grew up, like before I was even talking, with a microphone in my hand. My dad was a pastor growing up. I was singing in church as soon as they would let me. I have two older brothers. I’m the youngest. All three of us grew up in Hull, Georgia. And we all moved to Nashville separately, but we currently all live in Nashville. and we were always super musical growing up.  My older brother Micah actually taught me how to play guitar.  Maclean started playing first and then we all kind of jumped into it.  So’re kind of a little bit of a low key family band.”
