A lot of country guys love this time of year because they get some time off to get out in the woods and do some hunting. Mackenzie Carpenter had a tongue-in-cheek song on her self-titled debut EP called “Huntin’ Season,” about a woman who loved huntin’ season because it meant her man would go hunting and she’d get to enjoy some alone time at home doing all the things she loves.  But we wondered if Mackenzie has ever experienced the hunting side of huntin’ season.

“So, I grew up going out hunting with some family members, my uncle and my, well, my other uncle that’s not really my uncle. But I have never actually killed a deer. But I’m not saying that I wouldn’t, but I enjoy the action of it. But I’m definitely on the other side of it. I’m the stay at home, kill a box of wine, and watch The Real Housewives, you know.”
