current single: “I WISH YOU WOULD” featuring Midland
Mackenzie Carpenter and her husband Cole will celebrate their second anniversary on Thursday, October 16. Mackenzie remembers when she got engaged, a lot of people thought she was crazy, in part because she was still fairly young (24), but more so because she got engaged three days after she signed her record deal and two days before she released her first song. Luckily, Mackenzie is good friends with Thomas Rhett, who also got married when he was young, just as his career was starting, so she was able talk to him and look to him as an example of how to navigate starting a career and a marriage at the same time.
Mackenzie Carpenter – TR marriage anniversary :41
“You know, getting to see the way that Thomas Rhett handles his career and his family. I think everyone can tell just how special that is. So, in the conversations that I’ve gotten to have with him, I love that him and Lauren are such a strong example of like a freakin’ power couple and country music, and how it’s worked out so well for them. It’s really inspiring to me and Cole because it’s like we get to learn from them and see how they did it. But to me, I’m very much about like that inner circle of support and if I don’t have that I think I would just crumble and Cole is so that for me, so I think he’s another big piece of the puzzle that I couldn’t do this without him.”
