debut single: “WAIT TIL YOU HAVE KIDS”

Greylan James is a pretty gregarious and charismatic guy, but he admits that wasn’t always the case.  But even when he wasn’t the Greylan he is today, he found a way to get plenty of inspiration for his relationship and heartbreak songs that he wrote in junior high and high school.

Greylan James – kind of kid he was :40

“I was definitely super shy growing up because I felt like I was living two different lives. When I was in elementary, middle school and high school, especially, I was the kid that was always playin’ shows outside of school. At 3 o’clock I was this country singer, but in school I was just shy.  You know, when you’re like tellin’ people in school that you’re gonna be a country music star, that doesn’t really go over well and doesn’t make you popular as you thought it was gonna be.  But when I go to high school, everybody started to kinda figure it out, especially after I was on The Voice. So, I kinda went through different phases, but I think it definitely helped me when I was a kid, when I was in school, I was super observant of other people and seeing how other people’s relationships were goin’, and takin’ little seeds about it. So, I was really writin’ songs about other people in school, rather than myself, cause I did not have a lot goin’ on. I was shy as hell.”
