debut single: “WAIT TIL YOU HAVE KIDS”

Greylan James is very close with his mom. In fact, she’s the person who inspired him to write his debut single, “Wait Til You Have Kids,” Growing up, Greylan says his mom was kind of larger than life and even now, she reminds everyone who meets her of a certain larger than life country star.

“My mom’s my queen. I always tell people when they’re about to meet her, like she is pretty much Dolly Parton. Like literally, I mean, anybody that’s gonna meet my mom one day and be like, that makes sense. Yeah, she is literally Dolly Parton. She has a electric personality, and I think that’s why I was shy growin’ up, ’cause my mom was always the star. And she’s just the most caring human being I’ve ever met in my life. And she always makes anybody in the room feel important. You know, now that I’m on tour and I’m doing meet and greets, and I know a lot of people are shy when they’re walking up to meet a country singer that they’ve gotten to listen to, and I think just making everybody feel super important because you never know like what they’re going through that day. My mom definitely instilled that quality in me and my brother. And so I definitely carry that when I’m on the road and I’m meeting people.”
