debut single: “WAIT TIL YOU HAVE KIDS”

We know Greylan James is a talented songwriter, but some people may not know he also has some pretty impressive guitar skills. In fact, Greylan was once ranked as one of the best guitar players in the world under 21 on Guitar Center Magazine’s Brotherhood of the Guitar Top 100. Greylan explains how a desire to play like Brad Paisley and YouTube helped him develop his guitar skills.

“So, when I was a kid, I got guitar lessons when I was nine or 10 years old, and it was mainly because my parents were like, ‘Alright, if you’re gonna do this, if you’re gonna be rattling around the house, like, you need to at least be good at this.’ And so, I finally started taking guitar lessons, and I took about two. And then I was upset they wouldn’t teach me how to play Brad Paisley songs. I wanted to learn some rock ‘n roll and some stuff that’ll impress the girls at school. And so, I quit and just got on my dad’s computer when I’d get home from school, and I would just look on YouTube and find a video I wanted to learn how to play, and just play, rewind, play, rewind. That’s how I learned. And before I knew it, I was kinda figuring it out, and one day it just kind of all clicked.”
