(AUDIO) CAROLINE JONES DEFINES HER SOUND IN COUNTRY MUSIC

debut single: “NO TELLIN’

Caroline Jones was born in New York City and raised in Greenwich, Connecticut. As a kid she learned to sing opera and jazz, and as she got older, she learned how to play piano, guitar, dobro, mandolin, banjo and harmonica. She hosted a songwriting-based show on SiriusXM called Art & Soul, she’s toured with Jimmy Buffett, she’s a member of the Zac Brown Band, and now Caroline has her solo single at country radio called “No Tellin’.” So, with all of that interesting and diverse musical background, how would Caroline define her sound and where she fits on the very broad spectrum of country music these days?

“I think it’s just more rootsy, raw country. I’m influenced by a lot of different genres. Being in the Zac Brown Band has given me a lot more grit, and kind of some rock edge. But at my heart I am a singer / songwriter and I love pop melodies. But I think, to me, what really defines my artistry is the fact that I play my instruments, and that I write my songs with those instruments. So, that gives it a rootsy edge. So, there’s a little bit of bluegrass to this album because of that, and kind of like a rootsy, almost like Joni Mitchell country kinda feel.”
