current single: “DRINK WITH YOU”

Back in 2021, Brett Young was able to turn his hit song, “Lady,” which he wrote for his oldest daughter Presley, into a children’s book called Love You, Little Lady. After his second daughter Rowan was born, we asked Brett if that meant there would be a song for Rowan and possibly another children’s book in the works. At the time he hadn’t written Rowan’s song yet, which is called “Full House,” and appears on his latest album, 2.0.

“The first book wasn’t even my idea. I’m so grateful that Harper Collins came to me with this idea after they heard the song. It was a really fun process. You would think that because you’re a writer of songs, you could write a book. I’m so grateful that they gave us a staff writer to do that with us, because the adaptation would not have come naturally to me. I hadn’t considered doing another one until I started thinking about how I owed Rowan, our youngest a song? I’m like, ‘Yeah, I also owe her a book because she’s not represented in the first book either.’  I don’t know for sure that that will happen, but I would love to do that at some point.
