“When I first started performing “Lady,” the song I wrote for my oldest daughter, Presley, it was hard for me to get through it on stage. I’d get choked up pretty much every night just because it was so current and honest and real to what I was experiencing in my life. In a writer’s room, I think you’re so deep in a creative space, but once I was performing it live and started like letting myself hear and feel the words, that one messed me up for a little while.”
