Avenue Beat’s Sam, Sami and Savana were about 17 years old when they decided to make the move to Nashville to pursue their music career, and Sam Backoff recalls that was the first time she ever saw her stoic father cry. “Oh my God, I’ve never seen my dad cry before,” says Sam, “but when he dropped us off at our first ever apartment in Nashville, I saw him cry for the first time, and I was like, ‘Oh my God.’ It was the craziest thing ever. My dad has emotions. It was so cute.”
While Sam’s dad cried about dropping his baby girl off in Nashville with her two best friends to pursue music, he and the rest of the girls’ families are incredibly proud of Avenue Beat having their debut single, “Ruin that for Me” on the radio, and continuing to build a bigger fanbase by releasing even more music on streaming platforms, and interacting with fans however they can, while the world continues to grapple with Covid-19.
