Chaley Rose, who plays Zoey Dalton on ABC’s Nashville says country music was part of her life from a very early age because of her Great-Grandfather. “Being from southern Indiana, I heard country all the time. My Great-Grandfather watched Hee-Haw and Live from the Grand Ole Opry. So I have vague memories of those things on the big, archaic TV, that’s sitting on the floor.”
As she got older she was exposed to more current country music through friends, but she says being on the show and living in Nashville, “This is my first time experiencing the Nashville Country and Americana, and I love it.”
Chaley has been pursuing a music career for quite a while and was always drawn to a certain style of music, but could never really define it until now. “I didn’t know it was called Americana, but as I was trying to describe to people what I wanted to do they didn’t get it,” she says. “And so now, being here working with Buddy (Miller, the show’s executive music producer and composer), this is where I feel very comfortable.”
Nashville will return with brand new episodes after their winter break beginning Wednesday, February 4th, on ABC.
