(AUDIO) Waterloo Revival’s Cody Cooper Admits Songwriting Helps In The Romance Department

When you’re on the road as much as Waterloo Revival is, promoting their debut single, “Hit the Road,” it’s important to make an effort to keep the home fires burning with their significant others while they’re gone. Lead guitar player Cody Cooper admits if you asked his girlfriend how he is the romance department, she would probably tell you he could use some work. But he explains, “I’m not necessarily always the best in verbal conversations about expressing sentimental feelings and all that. But it all comes across in our songwriting and she’s definitely been an inspiration for a lot of the songs, and I know she knows that and she appreciates it and realizes it whenever she listens to the music. So, really, music’s pretty much been my main outlet for being a romantic and communicating feelings and all that.”

Cody says not only did songwriting help him in the romance department, but it’s also been very therapeutic for him as a way to express his feelings.

Cody Cooper – “I would like to think of myself as a romantic. If you were to ask my girlfriend she would probably tell you that I could use some work in that department. I’m not necessarily always the best in verbal conversations about expressing sentimental feelings and all that. But it all comes across in our songwriting and she’s definitely been an inspiration for a lot of the songs, and I know she knows that and she appreciates it and realizes it whenever she listens to the music. So, really, music’s pretty much been my main outlet for being a romantic and communicating feelings and all that, and that’s part of the reason I got into songwriting to begin with is as a means to express feelings and all that and it’s been very therapeutic and great for people like me that could probably use some work in the romantic department for sure.”
