Thomas Rhett is definitely a country artist, but he knows that some people, especially lately, want to further label artists as “bro country” or “hick hop artists,” but Thomas doesn’t see the point of such labels. He says, “I think Eric Church said it best, I read this quote, I think it was in ‘Rolling Stone Magazine’, but he said, ‘There’s no such thing as genres, it’s just good music and bad music.’ And that’s kinda what I’ve taken to heart. I don’t even know what Bro-country means, I don’t use the term Hick-Hop. It’s just good music or bad music to me.”
Thomas’ latest single, “Make Me Wanna” has been described as country with a bit of a Bee Gees flair, but whatever you call it, fans would agree it falls into the “good music” category as it’s currently in the top five and continuing to climb on the charts.
