(AUDIO) Waterloo Revival’s Single “Hit The Road” Was A First For Them

Waterloo Revival’s George Birge and Cody Cooper will never forget writing their debut single, “Hit the Road,” because it was the first song they ever wrote in Nashville. Cody explains that the blueprint for the song was something he and George came up with, with their friend from high school, Jason Carter, who used to play drums for them in one of their high school bands. On their first trip to Nashville the guys brought the beginnings of the song with them and Cody says, “George and I got into the writing room with Dustin James, outa Nashville, and it was maybe a 45 minute writing session and at the end of it we had our work tape with the exact same arrangement, exact same everything. It was amazing how quickly it went together and it was crazy that it was our very first writing session in the city of Nashville that came out with our current single.”

Waterloo Revival – Hit the Road Cody :41
Cody Cooper – “We had a song idea to begin with and a blueprint for it, for the song ‘Hit the Road’. It was actually a song title and song idea that was from a buddy of ours from high school, his name’s Jason Carter, he used to play drums for us for one of our high school bands. Me, George and Jason had gotten together and kinda gotten some blueprints together for the song idea and George and I got into the writing room with Dustin James, outa Nashville, and it was maybe a 45 minute writing session and at the end of it we had our work tape with the exact same arrangement, exact same everything. It was amazing how quickly it went together and it was crazy that it was our very first writing session in the city of Nashville that came out with our current single.”
