(AUDIO) Thomas Rhett Has A Good Problem of Too Many Songs For His Sophomore Album

Thomas Rhett is currently climbing the charts with “Make Me Wanna,” the last song he plans to release off his debut album, and he’s working on his sophomore album, which he plans to release in early 2015. Thomas is a great songwriter in his own right, plus he has a lot of good friends who are great writers and pitch him some of their best songs and he says, “I think I have like 32 songs that I wanna put on the record, which is physically impossible unless I go ahead and do greatest hits now, which is not gonna happen.”

Thomas is tackling the difficult task of narrowing down the songs he wants on his next album and he says, “Now it’s to the point of just like, what do I want the second record to sound like? Who do I wanna be on this record? How much of the same do I wanna stick with, that was successful in the first? And how much of a departure do I wanna make?”

While it will still be several months before Thomas releases new music off the new album, he says, “I’m like jumping out of my seat to let people hear new music. So, it’s a lotta fun now and I can’t wait for it to come out?”

Thomas Rhett – second album update :41 (**red carpet audio**)
“I’ve talked in the past about always havin’ a lotta songs and when it came time to start pickin’ songs for the next record. I think I have like 32 songs that I wanna put on the record, which is physically impossible unless I go ahead and do greatest hits now, which is not gonna happen. I write so much and I get pitched so many songs, and I’m such good friends with so many amazing songwriters that there’s never really a shortage of great songs. And so now it’s to the point of just like, what do I want the second record to sound like? Who do I wanna be on this record? How much of the same do I wanna stick with, that was successful in the first? And how much of a departure do I wanna make? And so, we’re in the process of recording it now and I’m like jumping out of my seat to let people hear new music. So, it’s a lotta fun now and I can’t wait for it to come out?”
