Thomas Rhett has been fortunate to be part of some big tours including Brantley Gilbert, Toby Keith and Miranda Lambert’s Platinum Tour, which he’s out on now, and one thing that often comes along with being on a major tour is tour pranks.
Thomas laughs when he remembers the pranks he and Toby Keith and Brantley Gilbert exchanged when they were all out together. “The last night of Toby Keith me and Brantley Gilbert walked out on stage in spandex and we had his band up in the rafters and they dumped 700 Red Solo cups on stage and dumped Fruit Loops all over Toby and we were just kinda like bein’ funny, like dancin’ up on Toby and stuff. Then the next night Toby’s whole band started carrying all my band’s gear off the stage while we were still in the middle of our set.”
Thomas says tour pranks are definitely fun, but you’ve definitely got to time them right. He says, “It’s fun to do it, like towards the end of the tour ‘cause you’re not gonna get kicked off.”
Thomas just released “Make Me Wanna,” which will be the last single he releases off his debut album. He’s currently working on his next album, which he plans to release in early 2015.
