Thomas Rhett just scored his second #1 song with “Get Me Some of That” and he’s busy working on his sophomore album. He realized during the making of his first album that his wife Lauren was the perfect person to bounce songs off and get her reaction because she’s a genuine fan of country music. Thomas says, “We’ll go watch Luke Bryan and she stands there just like every other girl, you know, big eyes and laughin’ at him and watchin’ him dance. And go to a Kenney Chesney show and she’s just as big of a fan. So I feel like why not play my songs for a fan that’s my age and see what she thinks about it.”

Thomas knows he’s found a good song when Lauren is over-the-top excited and can’t get it out of her head. He says, “There’s a lot of songs on the [debut] record that Lauren loved and I knew I had to cut. ‘Cause I knew if she liked them a lot of other girls were gonna like ‘em.”
