Thomas Rhett’s latest single, “Get Me Some of That,” is a bit of a sexy song, and not so much a beer drinking, party song, and he credits his wife Lauren with helping him to hone in on those types of songs more. Thomas says, “I remember there came a point where I had been writin’ for a solid month. We weren’t really on the road very hard and I felt like every song I came home with was some kinda song about beer or somethin’ like party somethin’. And we were on the way home from, I think church one day, and the Tim McGraw song came on ‘Just to See You Smile’, and (Lauren) goes, ‘Why don’t you ever write sweet songs like this?” And I was like, alright that’s my mission this week. My mission is to write five sweet songs and they’re all for you. And so Lauren definitely inspired me to get in touch with my more girl-based, sweeter song.”

Although Thomas didn’t write “Get Me Some of That,” we’re guessing Lauren’s request for more sweet songs stuck with him when he was choosing material for his debut album.
