Jonathan Jackson, who plays Avery on ABC’s Nashville was a singer long before he landed on the hit TV show. “I started singing when I was probably eight or nine years old,” explains Jonathan. “I sang at some of my father’s concerts. My dad’s a country music singer and I sang ‘The River’ by Garth Brooks. I think that was the first song I ever did on stage, really. So, I’ve been writing music and performing ever since then really.” On landing the part on Nashville, which gives him the chance to both sing and act, he says, “It’s been incredible to be able to, you know, not only do acting, but do music as well on the same project. It’s been a dream come true.”
A new episode of Nashville will return to ABC on January 11th.
