The second season of Nashville is about half over, and Chip Esten, who plays Deacon on the show, says he loves doing scenes on the show that combine music and acting.
“I loved doing the two early duets that I got to do with Connie and Hayden. I got to do ‘No One Will Ever Love You’. That scene at the Bluebird was great. And also the scene where Deacon and Juliette wrote ‘Undermine’ together. Both of those were great. I love that music.” Aside from the music, Chip says he also enjoyed filming the scene on the show where Deacon got a dog because he says, “I love that dog.” Until recently, Deacon had been avoiding music on the show because of a devastating hand injury that took away his ability to play guitar, but he recently got to sing again on the show when he enlisted Avery to play guitar for him at The Bluebird. You can see a new episode of Nashville this Wednesday night on ABC.

Chip Esten – favorite scene so far :34
“Well, I loved doing the two early duets that I got to do with Connie and Hayden. I got to do ‘No One Will Ever Love You’. That scene at the Bluebird was great. And also the scene where Deacon and Juliette wrote ‘Undermine’ together. Both of those were great. I love that music. I also love the scene where I got the dog a lot. I love that dog. And then recently I did another duet with Connie called ‘At the End of the Day’ and it’s just Deacon and Rayna just hanging out, singing a song together. That’s just a beautiful, beautiful song. I like a lot of those that combine the music and the scene.”
