The Band Perry is back with a brand-new song that is a clever play on the word “Psychological.” Kimberly Perry talks about why she loves the song, and how it’s a step in a new direction compared to some of their previous obsessive love songs like “Better Dig Two.”

“So, ‘Psychological’ was written by three young writers here in Nashville. They’re fantastic. And I laughed at the punchline. I was like, ‘This is such a clever spin on that word.’ I had never thought of them as two separate words. But obviously, it’s been a dream come true for me to play off of the ‘psycho’ and the ‘logical’ side of that. I think here in The Band Perry, one thing that I’ve always been drawn to is a psycho girl love song. So, we were just like, ‘Man, this is such a cool new iteration of that for our band.’ We’re not trying to kill a guy out here with this one, you know? We’re like, passionately in love, and that feels like evolution for me as the narrator (laugh).”
