Mackenzie Carpenter isn’t necessarily an adrenaline junkie, but she is up for trying new things, although she admits she sometimes needs her brother, Micah, to motivate her with a little tough love to get her going.

“So, I definitely have an adventurous spirit inside of me, but sometimes I can still be a little bit of a chicken. And so, I say that my brother Micah is my pusher, and he’s always like, ‘Mackenzie, don’t be a baby. Do it.’ And so if there’s ever an adventurous thing, like our whole family has our scuba license, and I almost didn’t make it through scuba certification. Because you have to, like, clear your mask, take your goggles off and breathe. And it’s so confusing, and I was freezing. And Micah was like, ‘Mackenzie, you just have to do it. Just go do it. You’re fine.’ And so sometimes I need a little bit of tough love to make it happen, but I’m always thankful that I took the step.”
