debut single: “WEAK”
When Preston Cooper was 17 years-old, he posted a video of himself singing a cover of “I Won’t Let Go” by Rascal Flatts, and he sent the link to Gary LeVox. He had no idea if Gary would even see his video, so he was totally surprised when he got a response from Gary with some constructive criticism and advice. And now that Preston is part of the same record label group with Gary, it’s kind of surreal.
Preston Cooper – feedback from Gary LeVox :36
“Gary LeVox, he responded, which I was very surprised. He just told me, ‘Hey, work on your songwriting, work on your singing.’ But he’s like, ‘Your bass is very good.’ Yeah, he was very encouraging, very honest with me, which I really liked. It’s wild to think that I’m on the same record label as Gary when he sent me that email, you know, when I was like 17. But I’m definitely going to bring that story up for sure, about him replying and giving me advice about what I need to work on. And it’s really cool because he’s from Columbus, I think, Ohio, you know, and he’s a huge hunter, so we’ll have a lot in common probably.”
