Mackenzie Carpenter is a beautiful, smart, talented young woman, so it’s not surprising that there are little girls who might look at her as a role model. And while Mackenzie considers it an honor, and she tries to live a life worthy of having anyone look up to her, she also knows she’s not perfect, and she hopes people would be willing to show her some grace when she makes mistakes.

“I can only hope that the way that I live would be inspiring enough for other people to look at it as a model of a way that they would want to live. But definitely my faith is a huge part of where I am and why I feel like I’m here to reflect that outward and it not all be about me. And I think it’s what I have built my life on and what I follow. So, I’m definitely not a perfect role model and we all make mistakes, but if there was somebody that found something in me that they wanted to emulate or take on for themselves, that would be really inspiring to me because that would mean that I’m doing something right.”
